my writing, photography and the occasional handicraft

Photographs from the Aran Islands, off the coast of Western Ireland. These are all from Inishmore, the largest of the three islands, except the first one, which was taken on a brief stop on Inisheer.

The second, larger stone-age fort was built near the edge of a 300-foot cliff. Erosion has moved the edge of the cliff to the inside of the fort.

I am absolutely stunned. I love the pictures of the flowers and the ocean. Amazing. Now I want to go to Ireland.

Thanks! It’s my favorite place I’ve ever been. Friendly people, beautiful scenery, great hotels, delicious food, and amazing archaeology. What’s not to like?
